Dolly is back with us at Homeless Hounds through no fault of her own. Dolly is lovely natured and quite a laid back girl.

Dolly adores snuggling but she also has a giddy, playful side. Dolly already knows basic commands and she loves to offer two paws at the same time. She's learning ‘stay’ and ‘leave it’, and if you ask where her lead is, she will find it and try and put it on herself!

Dolly is fully house trained and can be left home alone for a few hours without getting upset. She doesn't chew things that don’t belong to her but she does chew her toys. She enjoys playing with her toys, either by herself or with her humans.

Dolly loves her food and will eat anything she can, so avoid leaving food accessible! At meal times, she is learning to sit in doorway of kitchen and wait, then when the food goes down, she's straight in there.

Dolly is a fairly lazy girl and will sleep most of the time, then have a sudden burst of energy, where she zooms round room - she loves her ball and she does a cute little pounce on it! She rolls around the floor and will push of from the sofa, like you push off from the wall at swimming. Dolly licks you non-stop and will jump up for cuddles. She’ll snuggle all day long. Dolly sleeps downstairs on her bed or the sofa but she will sneak upstairs in the night and get on the bed if the door is open! She doesn't like going out in the rain and often needs coaxing to go outside then.

Dolly wears a harness on walks - she pulls to begin with, but she’s easily controlled. She hasn’t been off lead yet, so we don’t know how her recall will be but we do know that she tries to chase the birds! She likes to pull towards people for attention. Dolly isn't dog friendly so she will need to be the only dog in the home. She isn’t spooked by anything on walks and she’s not desperate to go diving in water and muddy puddles!  Dolly currently goes for walks two or three times a day.

Dolly has skin allergies which has easily controlled with a Royal Canin diet which is available online.

Dolly has mainly spent time around adults and teenagers, however, she had lots of strangers with young children approach her and she was happy to be stroked.

Dolly will need a really secure garden with very high fences, she likes to try and escape, and can be quite inventive with her Houdini impersonations.

To adopt Dolly, please complete our online adoption application form and we will be in touch. We welcome applications from the North West but unfortunately we are unable to consider applications from further afield. Please submit your application before requesting to meet our dogs - visits are by appointment only. Please note that Homeless Hounds is unable to rehome dogs to families with children under 5 years.

Thank you
