Child Friendly (teenagers upwards)

House Trained

Bentley is a working type Jack Russell and will need a terrier experienced home, without other pets or young children (dog savvy teenagers upwards only). He would be most suited to a home where he has company for the majority of the day.

Bentley loves having baths and he is crate trained - he will sleep in his crate overnight. Bentley is playful with his rope toys- he's happy to play with adults or older children.

We've found that Bentley responds well to treats - we think he will work well with consistent reward based training.

Bentley barks in the garden when people pass by, or if he can see a cat. Whilst out on a walk, he likes to chase bikes, runners, livestock and wildlife, so we adivise that Bentley is only allowed off lead in safe and quiet areas until you have made the necessary improvements in his training. We also recommend Bentley wears a well fitting Baskerville style muzzle on walks.

Bentley is in need of a new home because he has snapped at his owner. He has also snapped at peoples ankles whilst out on walks.  We are looking for a home who will understand Bentley's terrier drive and provide him with plenty of mental stimulation, rewards based training alongside varied and long daily walks, so that his needs are fully met and he can start to unwind.

To adopt Bentley, please complete our online adoption application form and we will be in touch. We welcome applications from the North West but unfortunately we are unable to consider applications from further afield. Please submit your application before requesting to meet our dogs, visits are by appointment only. Please note that Homeless Hounds is unable to rehome dogs to families with children under 5 years.

Thank you
