Poppy is a super happy and affectionate Patterdale Terrier who thrives on attention. She’s an excitable and energetic girl with a clever mind. She would be most suited to an active home who enjoy long, regular walks. Poppy is great with children but she cannot share her new home with other pets.

Poppy can be left home alone for a few hours without any problems. She was crate trained as a puppy and she is familiar with baby gates being used in her home to create separate living areas.

Loves to play with toys but she'll chew them up, so only strong toys for this little terrier!

Poppy likes to chase runners, bicycles and wildlife – she has a high prey drive and her recall needs work - so for this reason, Poppy’s owner keeps her on-lead. Poppy is not good with other dogs and has fallen out with the other resident dog. On walks, she will growl and bark at other dogs. It would be lovely if Poppy could live with a family who can find walks in areas where there aren’t many other dogs so that Poppy can relax and enjoy her walks without becoming overactive. Poppy has been able to escape from the garden, so we will only consider homes with a secure garden with 6 ft perimeter fencing.

Poppy knows how to do a ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘lie down’ and ‘paw’. She’s well behaved around food and enjoys bones/chews and treats, and eats calmly. She’s happy to be groomed and she’s ok at bath times too. Poppy pulls on the lead, so she would benefit from consistent reward based training .
