***Mable is now RESERVED. We are no longer accepting applications for Mable, thank you ***
Mable is living with one of our wonderful foster carers, this is what they sat about her…
…”Mable is sharing our home with 2 male dogs and 3 cats, although Mabel is technically dog friendly she has Reacted to dogs whilst out on walks and a female dog in a home environment. She is also sporadic with the cats but still manageable, however as she loves to be the center of attention, a pet free home will be most likely the best environment for her to thrive.
Mable can be in alert with people and children passing on bikes/scooters etc so a home with older children would also be preferable.
Mabel is an absolute joy to have around and everything seems to be a brand new experience to her, so once things are repeated she understands and learns quickly. She travels really well in the car. She is house trained – only having one accident in the house on arrival, which is to be expected.
Mable loves her walks but will become on high alert seeing others dog walkers in the distance this is something we are working on by rewarding for positive behaviours – this will need to be continued when she goes to her new home. She will sometimes shout when she wants something or is excited!
Mabel needs commitment to her training and stability, and in return she is playful loving and sweet. She loves her humans and bonds quickly. We have been working on leaving her and she is ok being alone for a couple of hours with only one incident of barking for 5 minutes out of that time. She is not destructive when left.
Ideally she would have a home with people who commit the time and effort with her and continue with slow and calm introductions to new experiences. She is so willing to learn and please so is a fantastic girl and easily trained.
Mable does have a little stubborn streak if she’s for example sniffing things and likes to take her time, but we can forgive her for this because sniffing is super important for dogs!
To adopt Mable, please complete our adoption application form. We welcome applications from across Lancashire but unfortunately we are unable to consider applications from further afield.
