Butch

Butch is new to Homeless Hounds and is under assessment. You can still submit your application to adopt Butch but please be aware that at this stage, we don’t know what type of home he will require.

We have very limited information about this handsome giant. We do know that he loves people and knows basic commands like “sit” and will take treats gently. He has recently had a trip to the vets and was such a good boy in the car and with the vet who was examining him.

Butch is a big hit with our volunteers, he absolutely loves one on one attention with plenty of cuddles and spending time in the play area chasing the toys or playing in the ball pit.

Butch will need a strong owner who has experience with large breeds, and a large couch for him to sleep on! He will pull initially when he goes out for his walks but will settle down. But if Butch wants to go and sniff, you are going with him. Our volunteers are working on his pulling while out on his walks, and he does respond well to commands.

Butch does not like small dogs who bark at him. He becomes agitated and starts to pull on the lead. To calm him down he thrives off plenty of praise, and benefits from reassurance. If he comes across a dog who does not react, then Butch will just walk on by.

For this reason, Butch would prefer a home on his own with no other pets so he can benefit from a quiet life where he can get 100% of his owners attention.

When we know more information about this handsome giant we will update the website, thank you.
