Walter

Big softie Walter is currently in a foster home and is thriving.

Here’s what his fosterer has to say about him:

Hi there, my name is Walter and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m currently living in a foster home as I didn’t like kennel life. I love affection,  I’m very clever and full of character as well as being exceptionally handsome (everyone tells me this I’m not just showing off).

My favourite thing (after eating) is to snuggle up with my humans on the sofa. I previously lived with 2 young humans (aged around 8 & 11) and loved them with all my heart. I also spent a lot of time with a smaller dog. I wouldn’t like to live with any cats as I’m really not keen on them. At home I am exceptionally clean and am proud to report that I have had no toilet accidents. When I need go I stand by the door and if no-one notices I give a little bark for attention.

I sleep downstairs either on the sofa or my own bed. I stay downstairs until my human comes downstairs in the morning- unless they’re being exceptionally lazy then I may go upstairs to check on them. My human says I am very mischievous- I think this means I’m very clever as I can open doors. This has got me into trouble as I love counter surfing in the kitchen and have helped myself to anything/everything my lazy human left out. I also enjoy having a good root in the bin if it’s left out. I have been diagnosed as an opportunist thief. Unfortunately child locks have now spoilt my fun. I love food and always respond quickly when treats are on offer – whatever the situation you have my attention with treats.

I enjoy playing with my toys – balls, chews and my favourite treat filled Kong I like sleeping too and am happy to be left alone for several hours at a time. I’m usually asleep when the humans come home. I love meeting people and my tail goes at a million miles an hour when I greet people (whether I know them or not). When I go out I may initially pull hard on my lead as I am so excited. I calm down very quickly and am well behaved. I like to say hello to people and bottom sniff other dogs. I don’t need or want long walks. I love going out for a nose about and to socialise. Two or three short walks daily suits me unless it’s raining – I do not like rain.

If I sound like your kind of dog and you would like to adopt me please complete an application form at the bottom of this page. I’m looking forward to meeting you.
